Jocceline Hernandez Bio
Jocceline Hernandez is a Registered Dietitian and a Lactation Educator who received both her  Bachelor and Master of Science in nutrition and dietetics degree at CSUN. There, she also  completed her dietetic internship with a community nutrition concentration. Currently, she  works at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health as a Nutrition Consultant for the  Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Division. In this role, she trains and provides technical  assistance to over 300 prenatal clinics throughout LA County serving Medi-Cal participating  mothers. She also collaborates with the California Department of Public Health to co-author  several nutrition tools such as MyPlate resources for pregnant and those with gestational diabetes. She has over 7 years’ experience working with underrepresented communities and  has traveled abroad to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic providing nutrition and lactation education to mothers and their families. When she is not talking about nutrition, Jocceline  enjoys road trips with her family along the California coast and brings her 12yr old senior dog  poodle-mix, Kirby along for the adventures.

 is in need of Diet Aide staff. This is a great opportunity for food and nutrition students to gain the experience needed to apply to dietetic internships and to apply their knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

Position: Diet Aide PRN Position

Location: Los Robles Hospital

Description: The diet office staff is responsible for meal delivery to hospital patients.  This position works on obtaining daily menu selections from patients, correcting menus for therapeutic diets, meal delivery and running meal tray line.

The position is an as needed position, with several different shifts available daily.

                                 Student Work Opportunities

This is a great community health/nutrition educator job opportunity for those who are looking to gain experience.

CalFresh Health Living Education Sessions:
These sessions are typically held in the morning or the afternoon and usually last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Your role is to assist the Registered Dietitian with set up of the sessions, conduct food frequency questionnaires, in addition to giving out special "door" prizes along with follow-up and post-tests. We also need assistance contacting participants prior to sessions and being sure that they are ready for Zoom session.

All our work is conducted remotely via Zoom and by telephone. You will need to have access to a computer and Smartphone.

You determine your schedule based on the days you are available to work. We understand that students have varying schedules at different times of the year and that class schedule change with each semester.
